Omaha Hi-Lo

Games | 6 May 2010

Omaha Hi/Lo is a kind of Texas Hold'em. The difference between the rules of Omaha Poker and Texas Hold'em is that a player receives two cards do not, but four. Omaha - this is one of the most spectacular and aggressive forms of poker, where the position of the table is changing very rapidly and unpredictably.

In Omaha high-low is possible to create two versions of the best hand - a strong (high) and weak (low). In the weak combinations are not considered straights and flushes. The Bank is divided into two equal parts. Half of the bank provided the player with the strongest cards, the second half of the bank provided to the player holding weak cards. If there is no obvious low hand, or no one qualified for the low-combination, the entire pot goes to the player with the strongest hand.

Low hand to gather a bit more complicated. Also need to use two of their pocket cards and three of the cards on the table in order to qualify for low. However, all low hands must begin with an 8 or lower (lower is better). Eight low (8-low) may consist of eight and four lower cards, the seven low (7-low) is composed of seven and four lower cards, and so on.

For example,
8-4-3-2-A low - worse than a 7-6-5-4-3 low.
7-4-3-2-A low - worse than a 6-5-4-3-2 low.
8-7-3-2-A low - worse than a 8-6-5-4-3 low.
7-6-3-2-A low - worse than a 7-5-4-3-2 low.
8-6-5-4-3 low - worse than a 8-6-5-4-2 low, which is worse than 8-6-5-4-A Lo
Poor low-combination is 8-7-6-5-4 (Street up to eight), and the best (wheel) and a hand with five and less than 5-4-3-2-T (Street to Five). Accordingly, to the table could get a low hand, the table must be at least three cards eight or below. The aim of the game is to either make the best high or better low hand (called - to try to hit the jackpot).

The highest hand is the same as in the usual Omaha, where the best "normal" poker hand begins with a royal flush, and then in descending order. Similarly, conventional Omaha, for making hands must use two (only two) out of pocket cards and three (only three) of the community cards on the table.

Again, that in Omaha Hi-Lo the pot, if there is the weakest hand is halved. Even if a table, there are several players with a weak hand, it is still half the bank gets a strong hand, and the other half is divided among the winners, who at the hands of the weakest combination of cards. For example, a player has a better high hand but no low hand, and players 2 and 3 hold the same low hand. Player 1 gets half the pot, and players 2 and 3 share the remaining half of ShareThis. Players 2 and 3 received the fourth part. Or another example, player 1 has the best high and the same low hand, as the player 2. Thus, player 2 will receive a quarter of the pot and the player will receive a three-quarters.
